Vastu
Vastu and Feng Shui are mostly related to the proper placements of rooms and objects with reference to the 8 directions, our date of birth and our house number. This proper placement enhances our lives and brings in a positive attitude helping us be a happy and complete being and makes us achievers.
Many a times we are unable to understand why things do not work according to our efforts or why things go haywire without a reason. We can blame this on our stars as well as how we are located and how our homes are decorated.
Centre of Our Homes:
The central parts of our homes are supposed to be the heaven’s gate. This area should not be cluttered with furniture of any other articles. Keeping this place clean and spacious would ensure good energy.
Bathrooms and Toilets:
If we notice, we would see that in the olden times, bathrooms and toilets were built outside the home. That was ideal. However, modern homes do not follow the same procedure for the sake of convenience.
Some tips:
2. Bathroom/Toilet should not be placed in the centre of our homes.
Main Door.
There should be only one main entrance to homes. Having two entrances causes financial problems and confusion in our homes. If our homes are made in such a way that there are two main doors, one should be shut down and not used.
Other Doors:
Three doors in a straight line can spell evil influence in the home or work place. You can diffuse the negative energy by hanging a crystal near one of the doors.
Kitchen:
Our kitchen should be located in the South of our homes.
Front of Our Homes:
The front of our home should not be directly facing a stair case as this would expose the members of the home to a lot of negative energy directed towards them for no reason.
The front pathway to our homes should always be curving to bring in more positivity.
Plants in our homes:
We must avoid keeping cactus or bonsai in our homes. They represent stunted growth and will stop the progress of members who keep such plants.
Keeping plants with fruits and flowers, bamboo plants or shoots would mean good luck.
Hanging a picture of food/fruits near the dining table would ensure that there is never any scarcity of food in the home.
Pillars:
Pillars in our homes may signify blocks in our lives. One can keep plants near the pillars to deflect the negativity caused by it.
Beams:
One should be careful not to sleep under a beam or avoid sitting or working under them too. This can cause ill health and head aches.
Pets:
Keeping pets and taking care of them will bring great luck in life, be it relationships or monetary growth. However many people just keep pets because it is a status symbol or is advised by their astrologers but do not care for them or dump them on the streets when the animals become old. This will bring negative karma and immense bad luck to the members of the family.
If one cannot keep pets, one can feed the birds or donate at places where animals are taken care of. This will ensure positive feelings and good luck to the family always.
Taps:
Water leaking or flowing from taps that have not been closed properly or those that need to be mended signifies monetary problems, financial losses and career problems. Take care to close the taps well so as to not allow it to flow when not in use and repair those that have a leakage to save yourself from further losses.
Warning: Keeping broken articles or show pieces in the home or things that are not in a working condition or those items that have not been used since years should be discarded immediately. This will bring good energy and create a space for better things to enter ones life.
